Founded in 1989, Zeon Corporation was originally specialized on electronic publishing and printing solutions for a wide range of Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) customers and end users as well. Those major products then included the DBCS font generation system, rendering technologies; and a newspaper publishing system and PostScript RIP for several well-known newspapers companies.

Since 1993, Zeon had expanded its strong R&D capabilities onto PDF (Portable Document Format) Technology and demonstrated the first DocuCom PDF family products in Seybold Seminar, San Francisco, USA in 1995. Following that significant achievement, Zeon continously launched, with leading in the whole industry, the first Asian font PDF family products for Chinese (both of Traditional and Simplified), Japanese and Korean languages in 1997. It had been the first experience for entire PDF Technology community to have various language applications delivered and displayed in PDF documents under Windows environment.
